im hosting a pool party with a luau/beach/hawaiian theme in a few days. There are going to be eight 12 year olds (just a fun summer party with my close friends.) I'm a little stuck, though. I don't want to make my mom spend so much money on anything and I have left over decorations from my beach birthday party last year that im using. But does anyone have any ideas for decorations, PARTY FAVORS, ACTIVITIES, games..etc... that is easy/free/cheap? pleasee answer soon. Thanks so muchh! =) <3
Party favors - check your dollar store for bags of hair clips and scrunchies, nail polish, and inexpensive beads and bangles to make small goody bags.

ok wel im having a backyard luau party and i need decorations and ideas....and also i need a color for the party like should i do rainbow or just like to color?!?!?!?? ok and please choose a cakehttp://www.hawaiianweddings.net/S11_new.jpg http://www.hawaiianweddings.net/SQ5.jpg and btw i can change the color...i need ideas cause i dont want it to be like a mix of like sophisticated and childish so i need ideas thanx!
im getting my cake personaly made so it has to be better than a store bought cake....and it has to be HUGE! cause im havin more than 50 ppl
im srry guys its a birthday party....not a wedding:(
I choose the white cake. That's pretty. A luau should be bright and colorful with lots of flowers, traditionally. I guess if you have other ideas, you could change it up a bit. I think rainbow colors are a great way to go. Have fun and enjoy your party.

Hi, this is Alicia's sister Charlotte. My 11 yr. old daughter is turning 12 on December 30th. She wants to have a Winter Luau Party maybe on Jan. the 9th ( Sat.) I need tips on budgeting, party, ideas, decorations, stuff like that. On her 10th birthday I spent $200 on a Cheetah Girls party and even after she said she didn't like the party. I'm hoping to spend less than $100 this party, I don't make a lot of money and we need cheap but cool. FYI we live in a 1000 sf. apartment so we don't have a porch or backyard.
Thanx
Charlotte
Some ideas:

Limbo
Hula dancing
Leis
Colorful plastic sunglasses
Watermelon fruit bowl
Pineapple
Fruit punch
You should be able to find lots of decoration ideas at any party store.

I am the host, and just came up with the idea right now. I thought it would be more fun than a traditional "luau" styled party.
What kind of funny ideas do you have that are very creative? Thanks! This party will be for my 26th birthday party where friends and family will invited. Kids will also be there, and for them we have rented a HUGE inflatable professional slide
but what about the decorations besides the obvious, coconuts, leighs, and grass skirts?
Definitely a limbo stick. Maybe some of those cute little umbrellas to put in drinks, I love those. If there's going to be kids there, get a sandbox for them to play in. That's kind of beachish. That's all I got. :] Have fun with your party and happy Birthday!

would like ideas of where to locate items and decorations to support our them. websites would be appreciated.
at many luau's girls wear skirts made out of tea leaves and a swim suit top
but since there arent tea leaves outside of hawaii, or atleast i dont think there are, banana leaves would work just as good because they look pretty much the same
wearing them really looks hawaiian style and its really easy to make.. just string it together with a needle. it doesnt take much time
I've gone to many luau's wearing this. Hula dancers often wear skirts like these too
