Remy Eats Poi (Food Oddities – www.foododdities.com)
Its time for poi! Yes, this paste-like food is undeniably beloved in Hawaii, both for its taste and cultural significance. But have you ever heard of a non-Hawaiian appreciating it? Its not that they dont try. Many a visitor to Hawaii has sampled poi at a luau only to compare its taste to any number of less-than-delicious items - many of them not even food.
Even though Remy lives nowhere near Hawaii, he got his hands on some poi and gave it a try. Note that poi is seldom eaten alone, but instead is simply one component of a meal. Even so, Remy tries to sample foods by themselves, in order to get a true taste of the food.

In Asia, its called taro and we cook it in a lot of different ways. The one I like best is the sweetened version. The Mcdonalds here carry a taro pie which is like apple pie but has the sweet purple filling instead.
